Historic Preservation Grant Program
LPC’s Historic Preservation Grant Program (HPGP) offers grants ranging from $10,000 to $30,000, primarily for façade restoration, to nonprofit organizations and income-eligible owners of buildings located in historic districts, or those designated as individual landmarks.

Federal Historic Preservation Tax Credit Program for Income Producing Properties
Owners of income-producing real properties listed on the National Register of Historic Places may be eligible for a 20% federal income tax credit for the substantial rehabilitation of historic properties. The final dollar amount is based on the cost of the rehabilitation; in effect, 20% of the rehab costs will be borne by the federal government.
New York State Historic Preservation Tax Credit Program for Income Producing Properties
Owners of income-producing properties that have been approved to receive the 20% federal rehabilitation tax credit can additionally claim a state tax credit if the property is located in a qualifying census tract. Owners can receive an additional state credit of 20% or 30% of the qualified rehabilitation expenditure, up to $5,000,000.
The New York Landmarks Conservancy
New York City Historic Properties Fund
The New York City Historic Properties Fund offers low-interest loans and project management assistance to owners of historic residential, nonprofit, religious, and commercial properties throughout the city, mostly in low- to moderate-income communities.
Sacred Sites Program
The NYLC Sacred Sites Fund provides all congregations with matching grants for planning and implementing exterior restoration projects. Priority will be given to essential repairs to the primary worship building.
